Eket is a part of the Ibibio tribe of Nigeria, living around the Niger River delta. They carve masks that symbolize the moon, circular and with triangular motifs at the edge symbolizing moonlight. The lunar symbolism in these masks identifies with Eka Abbassi, the Eket creator goddess.
